About the business
A.B.S Mobile Valeting is the sole-trader business of Andrew Staplin. It is a mobile service based in Tewkesbury, not a public walk-in premises. Contact: 07711 270106 or absvaleting@outlook.com. Ask Andy for a postal correspondence address if needed.
Quotes and prices
Website prices are guide prices, not automatic fixed quotes. The agreed price depends on the vehicle’s size, type and condition, including heavy dirt, stains or embedded pet hair. Please give accurate details and recent photographs. If the vehicle differs materially when Andy arrives, he will explain any change in work or price before proceeding.
Booking and payment
An appointment is agreed only when Andy confirms the date, time or arrival window, location, work and price with you. No deposit is required. Payment is by cash or bank transfer as agreed with Andy.
Access and your responsibilities
You must have permission for the service to be performed at the location and provide a safe, lawful parking space with enough room to work, plus safe access to water and electricity. Please remove valuables and personal items, point out fragile areas, damage or modifications, and make sure Andy can access the vehicle at the agreed time.
Changes and voluntary cancellation
If you need to cancel or rearrange, tell Andy as soon as possible. A.B.S does not currently require a deposit or publish a cancellation charge. Repeated missed access or late cancellation may mean Andy chooses not to accept a future booking. The statutory cancellation rights below are separate and are not reduced by this voluntary policy.
Your 14-day right to cancel a distance booking
If you are a consumer and agree a booking entirely by phone, text, email, WhatsApp or another distance method, you will normally have 14 days to cancel without giving a reason, starting the day after the contract is made. You can cancel by any clear statement sent by email, telephone, WhatsApp or post. Any refund due will be made within 14 days after you tell Andy.
If you ask Andy to begin within that 14-day period, he will request your express agreement in a message you can keep. If you then cancel after work has begun, you may have to pay a proportionate amount for work already supplied. Once the service has been fully performed following your express request and acknowledgement, the statutory cancellation right ends.
Before a distance booking is accepted, Andy will send the agreed total price, these terms and the cancellation information in a form you can retain. The booking confirmation will also be sent by email, WhatsApp or another durable message before work starts.
Model cancellation form
You may copy and send this wording, although you do not have to use it:
To Andrew Staplin trading as A.B.S Mobile Valeting: I give notice that I cancel my contract for the following mobile valeting service: [service]. Booked on: [date]. Customer name: [name]. Customer address: [address]. Date: [date].
Send it to absvaleting@outlook.com, by WhatsApp/phone to 07711 270106, or to the published geographic business address.
Bad weather
Appointments depend on safe, suitable working conditions. Light rain may not prevent work, especially if you can provide a safe covered area with enough room. Heavy rain, lightning, high winds, snow or ice, extreme temperatures, or any condition affecting safety or finish quality may mean the work is paused or rearranged. Andy will give as much notice as reasonably possible, though a changing forecast may require contact on the day. Weather-related rearrangements by Andy are free of charge.
Vehicle condition and results
Andy will use reasonable care and skill. Some established stains, odours, contamination, wear, damage or embedded material may not be fully removable through the agreed valet. A valet does not repair existing damage. Please raise any concern promptly so Andy can inspect and discuss it with you.
Photographs
Andy may ask permission to photograph work for records or a portfolio. Public use requires the vehicle owner’s permission. You may ask for identifying details to be obscured or request that a portfolio photograph relating to your vehicle be removed.
Your legal rights
Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under UK consumer law, including the right for services to be performed with reasonable care and skill. If the service is not carried out with reasonable care and skill, statutory remedies may include repeat performance or an appropriate price reduction. If there is a problem, contact Andy promptly so it can be discussed. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales; mandatory consumer rights about where a dispute can be heard still apply.
